Strawberry Margaritas
-
Ingredients
Strawberry simple syrup
*1 cup fresh strawberries, stems removed, cut in half
*1 cup granulated sugar
*1 cup water
Ingredients for mixing cocktail
*Juice of 2 limes, plus lime slices for garnish
*4-6 oz tequila (depending on what kind of day it’s been)
*2-3 oz Grand Marnier, Cointreau, or triple sec (half the amount of tequila)
*2 oz strawberry simple syrup or to taste
*Salt and sugar for your glasses
*Ice

Step 1
In a medium pot, bring strawberries, sugar, and water to a boil. Mash fruit and simmer for 10-15 mins or until strawberries have released much of their red color. Then, strain liquid into a bowl or heat-safe container. (Store extra simple syrup for up to a week in the fridge and use in other cocktails, coffee/tea, homemade sodas, etc.)

Step 2
Using a lime wedge, add salt and sugar to the rim of your drinking glasses. Place ice cube(s) and lime slice into each glass.

Step 3
Add tequila, Grand Marnier, strawberry syrup, lime juice, and ice to a cocktail shaker. Secure shaker and shake out your frustrations for 10-15 seconds. Pour into prepared glasses and add a few strawberries to the side for garnish.
